Columbia Foundation initiates grants in the following areas.
Unsolicited proposals are not considered:
- New initiatives and emerging issues - Community institutions
of historic interest - Philanthropy and the nonprofit sector - Other
programs outside the current guidelines
$7,500 to the CALIFORNIA ACADEMY OF SCIENCES, for general support on the occasion of the 19th Annual Ball.
$10,000 to CONGREGATION EMANU-EL, San Francisco, in honor of Rabbi Stephen Pearce’s 10th Anniversary.
$17,000 to the FRENCH-AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL, San Francisco, for general support of its programs of study in French and English, and to prepare its graduates to think critically and to communicate across cultures.
$20,000 to the SAN FRANCISCO BALLET, for general support of America's first professional ballet company.
$40,000 to the SAN FRANCISCO OPERA, for general support.
$12,000 to the SAN FRANCISCO OPERA, for general support and to present opera performances of the highest international quality available to the widest possible audiences.
$75,000 to the SAN FRANCISCO OPERA, for annual support and transition funding.
$10,000 to STANFORD UNIVERSITY, Stanford, Ca., for the University and its academic programs.
$23,426 to the ROYAL OPERA HOUSE FOUNDATION, London, England, for the Patron Trust Membership.
